Orks vs. Tank Company (1,850)

I recently played a game against an Imperial Tank Company. Having not been able to play for quite a time I decided to pack some of my Orks as I was somehow sure to be able to pull of one or two smart moves with these guys.
Without the smallest idea what a Tank Company looked like I decided to simply take an allround list for my Orks to be able to react to everything my opponent could throw at me and came up with this list:

This was the first time since 2nd edition that I played the SAG and I had absolutely no idea if this would be a cunning plan or a total desaster. Normally I'd have chosen the KFF Mek but with the addition of the Aegis and nearly no vehicles benefiting from the KFF I decided to leave it at home.
The rest of the list is a pretty simple Ork list. Lootas and Big Gunz providing fire support behind the Aegis, while Kans and 60 Orks march forward. The Nobz on bikes are the real troublemakers either with or without the Warboss able cause mayhem in enemy lines. Deffkopta and Komandos are just pure tactical elements in order to annoy the enemy from different angles or to prevent his own infiltrators to disrupt my army.
With this more or less cunning plan I went to the club and faced a list somewhat like this (not 100% sure as I didn't know Tank Company beforehand):

TankCompany : 1840

We rolled for mission and deployment and ended with the relic and Vanguard Strike deployment. I was able to choose sides but as the table was filled with ruins to a good amount that wasn't so important at all. Nevertheless I was able to choose a side with two large ruins and could connect them with my Aegis in order to create a large area of cover for my firebase. With nightfighting active in the first round I was able to get turn 1 as well and deployed rather aggressively to be able to make turn 2 charges with at least my Nobz. I already had realized that all those LRs had to be taken down quite fast and my own real chance to do so was close combat. AV14 is just not a good thing to shoot at for Orks, especially if there are 5 of these bastards ...
I ended up with this deployment. I had decided to deploy the Deffkopta and let it make a scout move. The Komandos are set up in the ruin opposite my own zone.

His deployment looked like this. He nearly only faced his AV 14 in my direction leaving my shooting nearly completely without real targets.

In turn 1 my Nobz boosted along my board edge behind the next ruin into a position where they could launch an assault at some tanks in the next turn. I just hoped that they would survive a full turn of shooting, because nightfighting is not really helpful if every enemy model is equipped with searchlights. The big mobs moved right at the relic and the oppoentn in general. The shooting of my Orks resulted in a destroyed weapon at one of the Chimeras and so I ended my turn and hoped to have enough hitting power for the next turns left after his shooting.
As expected nearly everything aimed at my Nobz and killed the two equipped with Big Choppas as I had placed them in the front behind my Warboss and was able to transfer everything onto them. My Painboy lost a life, but the rest of the squad remained unharmed, ready to attack the next turn. On the other side i lost some Gretchin to a missed shot of the Basilisk which was originally aimed at my Lootas.

Turn 2 clearly showed in which direction the game would go as my Shoota boys opened the first Chimera, securing First Blood for me and my Warboss left the Nobz and both units destroyed on of the tanks on this side. I was also able to secure the relic with my Shoota boys. In return he killed all of the Nobz but one claw and started killing the first Shoota boys, freeing the relic this way from Orks for another turn.

The next turn already more or less decided the game in my favour. The Warboss and the remaining Nob both killed another LR (the Nob heroically dieing in the following explosion ... idiot ...) This way the right side of the field was nearly completely cleared of tanks, only the Hydra and Basilisk where still standing there, fireing at my Orks. My remaining Ork mobs and the Kans where still advancing towards his lines, taking several hullpoints from different tanks.

But I still had 30 Slugga Orks on the other side who could take it.

If this wasn't annoying enough a group of 7 soldiers decided to charge my Warboss and he even lost a life ... with great rolls to wounds he was only able to kill one soldier and was hence stuck in CC in my round :(

Turn four decided the fate of the Tank Company. The Orcs kept destroying more and more tanks and the IG only got help from the Vulture Gunship, which was unable to kill my Warboss.

In the end we stopped the game after his fourth turn with only the Vulture, the Basilisc, the Hydra and a single empty Chimera left. The relic was lost somewhere in no-mans land, but I had won due to First Blood, Warlord and Breakthrough at least 3-0.
